Simple Tips to Help Sell Your Home

Selling a property in a buyer's market can be a challenging proposition.  Here are some tips that will help you succeed:

  • Evaluate your curb appeal.  What your potential buyer sees first can sometimes be the difference between a showing and moving on to their next option.
  • Use inexpensive fix ups to "spruce up" your property.  Painting a fresh coat of neutral paint always catches a buyers eye.
  • Understand your competition.  Look at competiting properties.  Buyers will be viewing multiple options for their home purchase.
  • Beware of maintenance that has not been completed.  Buyers will notice.
  • Remove personal effects.  Personal photos, artwork and trophies hinder the buyer from imaging your home as their home.
  • Clean your house.  Make sure every showing is spotless.
  • Organize.  Especially small spaces.  Organization makes spaces look larger.
  • Plug in a new scent.  Use a fragrance dispenser to add a clear but not overbearing scent to your home.
  • Consider new appliances or upgrades, especially if your competition has them.
  • Use a compitent Realtor.  A Realtor can assist you in pricing and marketing your home effectively, especially in a difficult market.
